Statement Of Faith
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and as such, works in the lives of people to convict of sin, righteousness and judgment and draw to Christ. For those who repent of sin and confess Jesus Christ as Savior, the Holy Spirit indwells in them to regenerate and bring about maturity and constant renewal in truth, wisdom, faith, holiness love and power. Believers are called to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit to bear fruit to the glory of God and to not walk in the flesh. (John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26-27; 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9, 14; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11, 6:19, 12:4-13; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18-21)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the biblical gifts of the Spirit, however, not at the expense of order in the assembly (1 Corinthians 14) nor as an emphasis over the day to day sanctifying work of the Spirit that brings obedience and maturity in the life of the believer. (I Corinthians 13)
We believe that all have sinned and come short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23-26). Therefore all are lost and under condemnation except through the new birth, which takes place through repentance of sin and faith in God. Justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone. (John 1:11-13, 3:16, 5:24, 10:28-30, 14:4; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2;8-10; Hebrews 7:24-25; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 5:11-13)
